Salaries of civil servants in Ukraine: analysis by the Ministry of Finance

According to inkorr.com: According to the Ministry of Finance, employees of central state institutions earned an average of 62,600 hryvnias in July this year. This is 7% more than in the same period last year.

“Interestingly, the growth of civil servants' salaries turned out to be twice lower than the inflation rate, which reached 14.1% in the same period,” the source noted.

The average official income across Ukraine in July was 20,456 hryvnias, which is 17.9% more compared to last year's figures, according to the Pension Fund.

The highest incomes in the public sector were recorded in the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Antimonopoly Committee, the parliamentary apparatus, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and other institutions.

Highest salaries among leaders

Among 513 leaders, the highest salaries are received by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, the Accounting Chamber, the Central Election Commission, and other institutions.

The Ministry of Finance's announcement about the 7% increase in salaries for officials of central state institutions in July this year compared to last year indicates a gradual improvement in the wage system in the public sector. The highest rewards among leaders are received by specialists from the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, the Accounting Chamber, the Central Election Commission, and other organizations.

Thus, despite the salary increases, the rate of growth does not keep pace with inflation. This raises certain concerns about the purchasing power of civil servants. In conditions of high inflation, the government should consider the possibility of adjusting salaries to support the material condition of those working in the public sector.
