At first glance, it seems more reasonable to fry the carrots first, as they are harder. However, in this way, the frying will not be tasty and aromatic, chefs say.

If you fry the carrots first and then add the onions, the latter will not get a golden crust. On the contrary, the onions will be dull and completely unappetizing. Moreover, during frying, the carrots release moisture. Because of this, the onions will not be able to add a caramel note to the dish or may even turn into mush.

Therefore, you should always fry the onions first. When they turn golden, you can add the grated carrots.

Fried carrots with onions are added to many hot dishes. Favorite meat, soup, or gravy with them get a unique taste and aroma.
