The SBU and the NABU have uncovered a corruption scheme of the Deputy Energy Minister
The Ukrainian Security Service and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau have uncovered an extensive corruption scheme organized by the deputy minister of energy.
This was announced by the SBU press service.
The deputy head of the Ministry of Energy was arrested in Kyiv with a bribe of half a million dollars. For this amount, the official promised to provide mining equipment from the Pokrovsky region mines in the Lviv-Volyn coal basin to the heads of state mining companies. The said amount remains unchanged.
According to 'Ukrainska Pravda', the arrested official is Oleksandr Khaylo.
It is emphasized that the equipment is unique and scarce. It belongs to a state coal company near the front line in the East.
According to the report, the official's illegal activity involved requesting money for permission to evacuate and use the equipment in the mines of the western region. For this purpose, Khaylo brought several individuals into collaboration.
According to the organized scheme, the money was handed over in parts during meetings. Currently, four individuals are in custody with charges brought against them.
Consideration is being given to taking preventive measures against them. Another salary scheme for military personnel has been uncovered by the GBR.
