On September 27, 2024, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and US presidential candidate Donald Trump held a "very meaningful" one-hour meeting at Trump Tower in Manhattan. Following the talks, Zelensky shared details on his Telegram channel.

"I presented him the Victory Plan. We discussed in detail the situation in Ukraine and the consequences of the war for our people. We discussed many details," Zelensky wrote, thanking for the meeting.

The President of Ukraine emphasized a common vision of the situation with Trump: "We have a common view that the war in Ukraine must be stopped. Putin cannot win. Ukrainians must win."

Zelensky also emphasized the need for a just peace.

The Presidential Office noted that Volodymyr Zelensky stated that pressure must be applied on the Russian dictator and force him to peace, and presented Donald Trump with the Victory Plan. The President of Ukraine also spoke about the situation on the front, the progress of the operation in the Kursk region and its objectives, Ukrainian innovations in the fight against Russian terror, as well as the disproportionately high losses of the Russian army.

During the meeting, they discussed in detail the general situation in Ukraine, the consequences of the war for Ukrainians and the economy. A separate focus of the conversation was the constant shelling of cities and civilian infrastructure by the Russian Federation and the role of American Patriot systems in protecting people's lives. Volodymyr Zelensky also emphasized the need to block any opportunities for the aggressor state to receive money for the war from the sale of oil and gas, as well as all channels for the supply of Western components for Russian missiles. Donald Trump called today's meeting a good sign.

For his part, Trump said after the meeting: "President Zelensky and I want this war to end. And to end justly. I think it will happen at the right Time." He added that both sides seek a fair agreement but noted that "it's still too early to talk" about the specific terms of such an agreement.

Interestingly, during the meeting, Zelensky invited Trump to visit Ukraine. The former US President responded positively, calling Ukraine a "beautiful country" and promising to visit.

This meeting took place against the backdrop of previous statements by Trump about the possibility of quickly reaching a peace agreement between Putin and Zelensky in the event of his election as US President, which drew criticism from the current administration.

Earlier, Trump revealed details of private negotiations with Zelensky.
