On June 16, 2023, international policy analyst Oleksandr Kolesnichenko stated on the FREEДОМ television channel that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is likely to meet with former U.S. President Donald Trump and convince him of the need for American involvement in peace negotiations.

Kolesnichenko also highlighted that Ukraine and the United States are already cooperating in the energy sector, which could serve as a foundation for stronger bilateral ties.
