Zelensky named the main difference between Trump and Biden.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the head of the White House, Donald Trump, will succeed in ending the war in Ukraine. He hopes that the U.S. will hit Russia with sanctions and provide a package of assistance to Ukraine.
Regarding this, the Ukrainian leader said in an interview for Newsmax.
The influence of the USA on ending the war
'I really want to believe that if Putin does not draw conclusions - Trump will indeed apply powerful sanctions that cannot be circumvented', - said the president.
He clarified that this primarily concerns restrictions in the energy and banking sectors. Zelensky also hopes that Trump will provide a powerful deterrent package and air defense systems that can protect Ukraine and European countries.
'This is the difference, the most important one: I do not want to criticize anyone. I am grateful to America for all the help during this war, America has supported us and I have always said that we are grateful to the White House and for bipartisan support. It has been, and I am very thankful that it continues', - noted the Ukrainian leader.
At the same time, Zelensky noted that former U.S. President Joe Biden 'failed to end this war'. On the other hand, he is confident that the current American leader Trump can do this, which will be 'the main difference'.
Earlier, the president stated that the U.S. wants to buy drones of Ukrainian production.
Meanwhile, Zelensky noted that Putin fears the USA, as during the visit of special representative Keith Kellogg to Kyiv, the enemy halted attacks on the capital.
During the interview for Newsmax, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope that thanks to the United States and Donald Trump, it will be possible to end the war in Ukraine. He noted that hope is placed on powerful sanctions and assistance from America, which will help Ukraine protect itself from aggression and make the transition to peace more realistic.Read also
