The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, called German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss a joint position on ending the war and ensuring security.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to Germany for its significant contribution to the defense of Ukraine in his message on social media. He noted that the total aid from Germany amounts to 43.6 billion euros, received since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
The President also reported on Germany's leadership in strengthening Ukraine's air defense and stated that the Ukrainian people will always remember such strong support.
Zelensky also shared with Scholz about his meetings with General Kellogg and other foreign leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron.
The interlocutors discussed in detail the necessary steps to achieve a just peace and the role of Europe in the negotiations.
