Russia Is Aiding Iran in Strikes on U.S. and Middle Eastern Bases, Zelensky Confirms.
Military Cooperation Between Russia and Iran
According to Novyny.live: Russia is supporting Iran in launching attacks against the United States and neighboring countries, using Iranian drones equipped with Russian-made components. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed these developments during an interview, stating that Moscow is actively backing Tehran’s military operations. This revelation adds a new dimension to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, highlighting how the Ukraine war has fueled broader regional instability.
Zelensky disclosed that intelligence data points to Iranian drones containing Russian parts.
“They are using Iranian licenses, have built and produced a large number of drones. They handed them over. I have 100% evidence that the Iranian regime used them against American bases and against our neighbors in the Middle East,” he said.
Iranian Attacks and Their Consequences
On March 7, Iran also launched missile and drone strikes against the United Arab Emirates. These actions break Tehran’s pledge to refrain from hitting nearby countries. Additionally, Iran has threatened Ukraine with retaliation over Kyiv’s provision of drones to Israel. The situation has raised international concerns about escalating conflict across the region.
The growing military partnership between Russia and Iran could significantly shift global geopolitical calculations, potentially heightening tensions in and around the Middle East. Russia’s backing of Iranian military operations may prompt new sanctions from Western nations, further inflaming the regional conflict. At the same time, Iran’s relationship with the United States could become even more strained, which in turn might affect security dynamics in Europe and disrupt global energy markets.
