Zelensky has not yet signed the agreement with the USA regarding minerals: CNN named the reason.

The agreement on rare earth minerals between the USA and Ukraine has not been approved by Zelensky
The draft agreement between the USA and Ukraine regarding rare earth minerals has not been approved by President Zelensky, the source reported. According to him, the proposal 'attempts to take more from the war victim country than it costs in defense spending.'
According to CNN, the United States seeks access to important minerals and other resources of Ukraine as part of broader negotiations on ending the war. For its part, Kyiv insists on security guarantees, is interested in the return of lost territories, and protection against possible future Russian invasions.
The Ukrainian side continues to seek amendments to the agreement, as the current draft 'does not include any American obligations, whereas Ukraine is expected to provide everything,' the source noted.
In light of these negotiations, a representative of the Office of the President of Ukraine informed the state broadcaster 'Suspilne' that the signing of the agreement on rare earth metals will not take place on Saturday. The work on the document lasted 'all night,' but was stalled due to issues of 'security guarantees.'
Resistance from the Ukrainian side to sign the agreement in its current form continues, despite intense pressure from the Trump administration. US National Security Adviser Mike Walcz even emphasized the importance of the aluminum mine, which could meet all of the USA's annual needs if revived with American investments.
On Saturday, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga reported a conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio 'to continue the productive Ukrainian-American dialogue.' 'On the eve of the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale aggression, I emphasized Ukraine's strong will to achieve a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace that strengthens both Ukraine and the USA,' wrote the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, an American official told CNN that the agreement between the USA and Ukraine regarding rare earth minerals and other natural resources 'is nearly ready,' but it is still unknown how the official signing might take place.
