Zelenskyy Warns of Massive Russian Strike Threat and Urges Ukrainians to Stay Alert.
Zelenskyy Alerts Nation to Potential Large-Scale Attack from Russia
According to Novyny.live: On May 30, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the public, cautioning about the risk of a massive Russian assault. He called on Ukrainians to pay close attention to air raid warnings, emphasizing that the danger of a major offensive remains very real. This warning comes amid ongoing hostilities and heightened tensions along the front lines.
According to available data, the destruction rate of Russian Shahed attack drones exceeds 90%. The interception rate for these drones stands between 90% and 93%, demonstrating the effectiveness of Ukraine's air defense systems. At the same time, the president noted that Ukrainian forces are continuously working to enhance their capabilities.
“Our air defense, our mobile fire groups, our combat aviation — everyone is on standby, as much as possible given the supplies,” Zelenskyy stressed.
In his address, the president also highlighted the critical need to follow safety protocols. Ukraine's Ministry of Defense urged the population to be especially vigilant on May 30 and 31. Additionally, efforts are underway to secure new missiles through the PURL program.
“Regarding cruise missiles and ballistic missiles: we are working with all partners to bring new contributions to the PURL program, and we are exploring other ways to obtain missiles,” Zelenskyy stated.
This presidential appeal underscores the gravity of the situation on the battlefield and the necessity for Ukrainian forces to remain prepared for potential attacks. Cooperation with international partners is also vital, as it can provide Ukraine with additional resources to strengthen its defense capabilities. In the context of the ongoing conflict, such communication with the public highlights the importance of information awareness and readiness for emergencies.
