Up to 25% of Russian Youth Want Ukraine Destroyed, Zelenskyy Warns of New Aggression Wave.
Zelenskyy’s Warning on Russian Aggression
According to UATV: In an interview with Reuters, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy raised alarms about potential future hostilities from Russia under Vladimir Putin. He pointed to a troubling segment of Russian society, stating that
“currently in Russia, 20-25% of young people want to see Ukraine and Europe destroyed”(Volodymyr Zelenskyy). This sentiment, he argued, signals a persistent threat that could escalate into a renewed wave of aggression.
Zelenskyy stressed that without decisive international action to curb Putin, the war is likely to drag on. He noted,
“Russians have internally fueled this war so much that if we don’t stop Putin, there will be a continuation”(Volodymyr Zelenskyy), urging greater pressure on the Kremlin, particularly from the United States. The remarks come as Ukraine continues to face relentless attacks, with no sign of Moscow seeking a diplomatic off-ramp.
The Urgent Need for Global Support
The Ukrainian leader also voiced concern over the Kremlin’s lack of genuine effort to end its aggression: “Right now, there is no serious desire from the Kremlin to end its aggression against Ukraine.”
Zelenskyy’s statements underscore the critical role of international backing in countering Russian aggression and the necessity of concrete measures to secure peace in the region. Amid rising tensions and perceived inaction from global bodies, Ukraine’s stance and proactive diplomacy may prove pivotal in shaping the conflict’s trajectory.
Moving forward, close attention should be paid to how the global community responds to these calls and whether shifts in strategy toward Russia emerge.
