Zelensky on Scholz's call to Putin: 'Minsk-3' will not happen – we need real peace.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reacted strongly to the phone conversation between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling it a 'Pandora's box'.
In his evening address on the 996th day of the war, the president warned that this call could lead to new fruitless negotiations. 'This is exactly what Putin has long wanted: he is trying to reduce his isolation, to isolate Russia,' Zelenskyy emphasized.
The head of state stressed that Russia has used similar negotiation tactics for decades, which led to the full-scale invasion. 'We understand all these challenges. We know how to act. And we want to warn: 'Minsk-3' will not happen, we need real peace,' the president stated.
Moreover, in his address, Zelenskyy reported on work being done on a plan for internal resilience, focusing on the front and human capital, as well as on conducting informal diplomatic work with students from universities in Latin America.
