Zelenskyy: Russia Lacks the Strength to Support Iran as an Ally.
Statement from Ukraine's President
According to UATV: In an interview with Rai Italia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia cannot be a true ally to Iran because it lacks the necessary strength, with its forces being heavily engaged in Ukraine. He argued that Russia currently does not present itself as a source of support for Tehran, as it simply does not have the resources to do so.
Zelenskyy also noted that Russia continues to supply weaponry to Iran. This arsenal includes electronics used for Iranian 'Shahed' drones.
"We understand that they can provide electronics for the 'Shaheds'" – Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Middle East Situation
Furthermore, he chaired a meeting focused on the situation in the Middle East, where issues related to these bilateral relations were discussed. It was noted that 'Shahed' drones contain components of Russian origin, highlighting the ongoing military technology cooperation between the two nations.
This statement from Ukraine's president reflects the complex geopolitical situation in which Russia and Iran find themselves, as well as the impact of the war in Ukraine on their relationship. The presence of Russian technology in Iran's military systems could enhance Tehran's military capabilities, a development that causes concern within the international community. This analysis comes as Western intelligence has long monitored military ties between Moscow and Tehran.
Under conditions where Russia is experiencing difficulties on the battlefield, its capacity to support allies may be limited; however, cooperation in specific areas, such as military technology, continues.
