Zelensky: 11 thousand North Korean troops are stationed near the border with Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that in the territory of the Russian Federation, near the Ukrainian border, particularly in the Kursk region, there are 11 thousand North Korean troops. He stated that some of these units have already directly participated in hostilities against the Ukrainian army and suffered losses.

Zelensky stated this during a press conference following the Mediterranean meeting of the European Political Community in Budapest.

The President also expressed concern about the "dangerous rhetoric" of some leaders regarding a ceasefire without guarantees for Ukraine. He emphasized the need to ensure the safety of Ukrainian citizens and prevent the destruction of their homes. Zelensky also noted that US President Donald Trump wants a quick resolution of the conflict, but this does not guarantee success.

The President stressed that the international community's response to North Korea's entry into the war against Ukraine remains insufficient.
