Rebuilding Ukraine's Gas Infrastructure
According to Novyny.live: On January 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy convened a meeting with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko and the head of the state-owned energy company Naftogaz, Serhii Koretskyi. The primary focus was on restoring the country's gas infrastructure and addressing the consequences of attacks by the Russian Federation on Ukraine's oil and gas facilities. These discussions are critical for maintaining energy security during wartime.
During the meeting, it was noted that Russian forces struck a Naftogaz facility in the Lviv region on the night of January 26-27. The talks also covered gas import issues, including the fact that Naftogaz is currently importing electricity in volumes exceeding 50% of its own consumption needs.
