Ukraine’s Drone Forces Score Major Hits on Russian Fleet

According to UATV: Over the past three days, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces have successfully targeted 21 Russian ships, including 19 oil tankers. In a particularly intense operation on the night of July 8, Ukrainian drone operators struck nine tankers in the Sea of Azov. Additionally, a cargo vessel and a ferry were hit near Kerch.

Operation 'Crimea Switch Off' Targets Power Grid

As part of the broader 'Crimea Switch Off' campaign, six electrical substations were also attacked. Since the beginning of July, Ukrainian forces have damaged 50 enemy energy facilities. Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi, confirmed the strikes on the vessels, highlighting the growing precision and reach of Ukrainian units.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that on July 8, long-range strikes reached the Saratov region, Tatarstan, and Bashkortostan, signaling an expansion of the conflict’s geographic scope. Units involved in the operations include 'Madar’s Birds', 'Raider', and the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces, demonstrating a coordinated and strategic approach to mission execution.

These developments underscore the increasing effectiveness of Ukraine’s drone warfare, which could significantly disrupt Russia’s maritime logistics and energy infrastructure. The scale of the attacks—hitting dozens of ships and power facilities—marks a new phase in regional military operations, potentially forcing both sides to adjust their strategies. Given the recent pace of Ukrainian actions, further strikes may aim to intensify pressure on occupying forces in Crimea and eastern Ukraine.
