Zelenskyy: Russia Supplying Iran with Targeting Data While Sanctions Are Lifted.
Ukrainian President Raises Alarm
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has voiced serious concerns over Moscow’s assistance to Tehran in its military operations. He stated that Russia is sharing intelligence on potential targets in certain countries that Iran intends to strike. Zelenskyy highlighted a troubling contradiction: even as Russia wages war and actively supports Iran, international sanctions on Moscow are being rolled back—a development he called baffling.
Economic Fallout from Sanctions Relief
The President noted that easing U.S. sanctions on Russian oil could provide Moscow with roughly $2 billion in extra revenue. In his view, this effectively legitimizes Russian aggression. He emphasized:
'It is strange that sanctions on Russia are being lifted while it is waging war and helping Iran.' - Volodymyr Zelenskyy
According to Zelenskyy, the current situation on the global stage reveals serious challenges for the international community in confronting Russian aggression and its collaboration with Iran.
Zelenskyy’s statements reflect Ukraine’s growing unease over shifting geopolitical dynamics in the region and the potential deepening of ties between Moscow and Tehran. The support Russia is providing to Iran could have far-reaching consequences, not only for those two nations but also for stability in other regions that may become targets of Iranian attacks.
At the same time, the issue of sanctions and their impact on funding Russia’s aggression remains a critical concern for the international community, which could shape future diplomatic efforts to counter Moscow’s hostile actions.
