Address of the President of Ukraine on the ongoing war

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered his daily address on August 8, 2024, on the 897th day of the full-scale war. He noted the successes of the Ukrainian military and talked about important meetings held throughout the day.

Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to all defenders who ensure the defense of Ukrainian positions. He emphasized that Ukraine strives to achieve its goals as soon as possible for the sake of a just peace.

The President reviewed the reports from key officials:

• Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sirsky reported on productive actions at the front.
• Minister of Defense Umerov reported on the supply of arms and equipment for the army.
• Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Maliuk reported on operations to protect against Russian sabotage and assassinations.

Zelenskyy reminded that he introduced a new digital service 'Army Plus', urging commanders to actively use it. He also noted that the development of the 'Diia' application would continue and soon an educational platform 'Mriya' would be launched.

At the end of his address, the President talked about a meeting on cooperation with NATO and neighboring member countries of the Alliance. Opportunities to strengthen regional security and counter Russian missile and drone attacks were discussed.
