Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Weighs In on Kazakhstan's Peace Initiative

According to Espreso.tv: Ukraine's top diplomat responded to a recent appeal by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who called on Vladimir Putin to freeze the war with Ukraine. On July 25, Tokayev proposed reviving the so-called Istanbul Formula 2.0, a framework for peace talks aimed at resolving the conflict. This development highlights the growing international pressure on Moscow to end the hostilities.

The Kremlin, however, dismissed Ukraine's proposal to cease military operations. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Sybiha stated that before Russia accepts any realistic peace offers, it must face stronger global coercion.

“We value President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's appeals to Putin that the time has come to stop the war,” Sybiha emphasized.

He added, “Moscow needs to experience more pressure before it will agree to meaningful peace proposals.”
