Russia attacked a hospital and residential area in Sumy

This morning, September 28, Russia carried out a double strike on a hospital and a residential area in Sumy. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that people were killed as a result of the attack.

«Sumy. Russia struck one of the city's hospitals with «Shaheds». Currently, eight people are known to have died. My condolences to the families and loved ones. Eleven people were injured, and 113 patients were evacuated from the hospital. The rescue operation is ongoing. We are eliminating the consequences, saving lives. We are doing our utmost to provide our people with the necessary assistance», – the statement reads.

The President noted that only force can compel Russia to peace.

«Everyone in the world who talks about this war should pay attention to where Russia strikes. They are fighting against hospitals, civilian objects, human lives. Only force can compel Russia to peace. Peace through force – this is the only correct path. Thank you to everyone who helps us on this path», – emphasized Zelensky.

At 12:38, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that the number of dead had increased to nine.

Let us recall that this morning, September 28, the enemy carried out an air strike on a health facility in Sumy using a «Shahed» UAV. The State Emergency Service, police, and medics are working on the site.

Later, it became known that Russia struck the medical facility in Sumy twice, resulting in fatalities.
