According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the historic Kyiv Pechersk Lavra on June 15, 2023, following a drone strike linked to Russian aggression. During the visit, he confirmed that two Russian drones had targeted this key site in the capital. In response, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers decided to allocate funds from the reserve budget to repair the damaged infrastructure.

Zelenskyy emphasized that steps would be taken to restore the monastery.

“Everything will be done. The Minister of Culture is here. Appropriate measures will be taken, expert assessments will be conducted, and we will restore everything,”
