Zelensky announced a large-scale personnel rotation: who will head the Ministry of Defense.
According to ТСН: The evening of January 2 brought important news about changes in the ruling team. Volodymyr Zelensky announced the start of a new phase of internal renewal in Ukraine.
The details of the rotations were highlighted by the president in a video address:
“Today we started a significant reboot — internal changes so that Ukraine becomes more resilient... Therefore — a wave of personnel changes, and there will be more decisions — in institutions.”
Ministry of Defense: a focus on technology
Zelensky proposes the candidacy of Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Fedorov for the position of Minister of Defense of Ukraine. The president emphasized that this official works effectively in the field of digitalization and drones.
“Mikhail is deeply engaged in issues concerning the line of drones, works very effectively in the digitalization of government services and processes.”
According to the president, the new task of the Ministry of Defense is to provide the military with more technology. He also reminded that in December, Ukraine reached a production of over 1000 interceptor drones per day, and these rates need to be increased.
The fate of Denis Shmyhal
Minister of Defense Denis Shmyhal will remain in the team but will change his position.
“Denis Shmyhal remains in the team of Ukraine... I have proposed him to lead another direction in public service, which is no less important for our resilience.”
The president also thanked him for his systematic work. He summarized that new decisions will be announced on January 3, as well as an important meeting of advisors on security issues in the format of “Europe + USA.”
It should be noted that Volodymyr Zelensky appointed a new head of the President's Office to replace the dismissed Andriy Yermak. The new head is now the former head of HUR Kyrylo Budanov.
These personnel changes are part of the president's strategy aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and improving governance in the context of a difficult security situation. The public is eagerly awaiting new decisions and initiatives that could significantly impact the development of the state.
