Ukrainian President Holds Talks with Iranian Royal Heir

According to UATV: On March 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in Paris with Iran’s crown prince, Reza Pahlavi. The discussion centered on the situation inside Iran, regional challenges, and the need to increase international pressure on the Iranian regime.

During the conversation, Zelenskyy stressed the critical importance of protecting lives in Iran and enabling people there to decide their own future.

“The prince and his team briefed me on the signals they are receiving from inside the country. The regime’s power structure has indeed suffered significant losses, and it is essential that the Iranian regime gains nothing from this—while the people of Iran receive stronger protection for their lives and more opportunities to shape their own destiny,”
the Ukrainian president stated.

Ukraine’s Stance on Iran

Zelenskyy also made clear that Ukraine wants to see a free Iran—one that does not cooperate with Russia and does not destabilize the Middle East, Europe, or the wider world.

“We discussed how important it is to ensure that the people of Iran can determine their own fate and receive proper protection for their lives. That must be the priority in all our future efforts,”
he added.

This meeting marked a significant step in strengthening ties between Ukraine and Iran, as well as in addressing pressing issues facing both countries amid global challenges.

The encounter between President Zelenskyy and Iran’s crown prince in Paris underscores Ukraine’s growing role on the world stage, particularly in conversations about human rights and regional stability. Kyiv’s support for the Iranian people and its calls to counter regional threats reflect a foreign policy that prioritizes security not just for Ukraine but for neighboring states as well. These discussions could have far-reaching implications for the future of Ukraine-Iran relations and for broader security across the region.
