Winter eSupport for Ukrainians: how to get money and what it can be spent on.
The Government of Ukraine launches a new social support program 'Winter eSupport', which will provide a one-Time assistance of 1000 hryvnias to every citizen of Ukraine, including children.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy initiated this program, which will operate from December 2024 to February 2025. All citizens of Ukraine who are on its territory will be able to receive these funds. The money can be spent until the end of 2025.
“We did not limit it to certain categories, because we cannot predict with 100% certainty how the Russians will act in winter. Therefore, it is important for us to find a universal support mechanism for everyone who may find themselves in difficulty,” said First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
The funds received can be used for payment of utility services, purchase of medicines, medical services, education, transport, mobile communication. There is also the possibility to direct the money for donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine or for purchasing military bonds.
Citizens can receive assistance in two ways. The first way is through the 'Dii' application, where it is necessary to install the application, open a 'National Cashback' card in one of the partner banks, activate it in 'Dii', and submit a request for assistance. The second way is through 'Ukrposhta', which is available for pensioners and people with disabilities of the 1st and 2nd groups who receive payments through this service.
Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovich emphasized the importance of the program's availability for all categories of the population, especially for pensioners and people with disabilities.
This program will be funded from unused funds of the state budget for non-military purposes. Citizens who do not need support can decline it or direct the money to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The acceptance of applications for assistance will begin at the beginning of December 2024. The system will automatically check the information about the location of applicants in Ukraine.
