Luka, who plays as a goalkeeper for Granada, has the chance to make his World Cup debut this summer in the USA, Mexico, and Canada. However, he does not plan to replicate his father's achievements with the French national team.

Luka spent four years in the youth teams of the French national team, making his debut in 2014 with the under-16s. Now he has received a call-up to the Algerian national team for the next international break.

Luka will join Vladimir Petkovic's team, which is preparing for qualifying matches against Somalia and Uganda.

The goalkeeper was born in Aix-en-Provence in the south of France but has Algerian roots through his parents, Zinedine and his partner, who are from the Kabylie region.

Luka is the second of four brothers: Enzo (30 years old), Theo (23 years old), and Elyaz (20 years old) - all of whom went through the Real Madrid academy.

He spent 14 years in the Real Madrid 'Castilla' setup and made his first-team debut in 2018 during his father's first spell as a coach.

In three years, Luka has started only twice, including a loan stint at Racing and subsequent moves to Rayo Vallecano and Eibar.

Currently, Algeria is leading its qualifying group and is on the verge of securing a spot in the World Cup.

Zinedine has a remarkable record with France, winning the World Cup in 1998 and Euro 2000, and his career ended in 2006 when he received a direct red card in the final, where Italy triumphed.

Thus, Luka's switch to the Algerian national team could be a significant moment for his career, as he will have the opportunity to play on the world stage and show himself in a new role. Choosing Algeria as his new sports allegiance highlights his connection to his ancestors' homeland and creates a new chapter in the Zidane family's sporting history.
