Changes in Disability Establishment: Whose Status Will Be Verified.
The Ukrainian system for establishing disability will undergo changes in January 2025, but holders of disability groups no longer need to review their status.
Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko spoke about this during a television appearance, reports Ukrinform.
The review of disability status will now concern only employees of law enforcement agencies, the prosecutor's office, central executive authorities, and local government bodies.
"We have already created a commission and, together with the State Bureau of Investigation, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the National Police, we are selecting cases and passing them on for consideration by the newly established group of experts, who will review them and call people for re-examinations," Lyashko said.
The minister also talked about plans for the system: "From January 1, 2025, the procedure will be explained to a person by the doctor who is treating them or who is their family doctor. They will receive specific indicators that point to specific diseases requiring further assessment of functionality."
The Ministry of Health has already prepared a draft law, according to which the functions of the MSEC will be transferred to cluster and supercluster hospitals, and doctors for functionality assessment will be selected by random choice method.
Earlier, we reported that cluster hospitals would receive the functions of the MSEC.
