130 residents remain in Chasiv Yar: why people do not want to leave the devastated city

According to the deputy head of the Chasiv Yar city military administration, 130 people remain in the settlement of Chasiv Yar. People refuse to leave the ruined city, driven by their attachment to their hometown and the graves of their relatives.

This was reported by Ruslan Pryimenko, deputy head of the Chasiv Yar MMA in a comment to Novyny.LIVE.

Why Ukrainians do not leave Chasiv Yar

After the premiere of the documentary film 'Chasiv Yar. Fireproof' by the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danilo, the official emphasized that most residents are elderly people who do not want to leave the city after the horrific events depicted in the film.

'The situation is very complicated, you understand, the destruction is enormous. The defenders will save our residents by rescuing some people who have now lost everything. They are slowly recovering, we provide assistance with humanitarian aid, documents, and other necessities', noted Pryimenko.

Earlier, it was reported that the Russian occupiers inflict significant losses while trying to capture Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region, even using women for the assault on the city.

It is also known that the 93rd brigade 'Kholodny Yar' liberated and cleared Hruzke and Vesele - two villages near Dobropillya in the Donetsk region.

Currently, a significant number of residents remain in Chasiv Yar who refuse to leave the city due to their attachment to their home and the history associated with this settlement. After the horrific events depicted in the documentary film, many affected people receive support and help from local authorities and military.
