Destruction of the Ammunition Depot in Toropets Will Force the Russians to Rethink Logistics – ISW.
The application of a strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the rocket and ammunition depot near the city of Toropets in the Tver region will force the Russian command to review and restructure the logistical supply system of its army. This is stated in the report of the Institute for the Study of War.
ISW experts confirm the information from Estonian intelligence that the destruction of the depot in Toropets will significantly impact the operations of the Russian forces in the coming months. Although the exact quantity and nomenclature of the destroyed ammunition remain unknown, analysts are confident that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have inflicted a serious blow to the enemy's logistics.
According to ISW estimates, further attacks by Ukrainian forces on logistical support facilities in Russia will increase operational pressure on the aggressor.
«In particular, the elimination of arsenals will force the Russian military command to restructure and disperse support and logistical supply systems within Russia to mitigate the impact of such strikes», the report emphasizes.
Thus, the successful actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in destroying the enemy's ammunition depots not only weaken its combat effectiveness but also force it to rethink logistical schemes, complicating combat operations for the Russian army.
