Regarding bread prices, Denys Marchuk explained that higher fuel costs and increased spending on raw ingredients will not drastically affect the final price of bread, since these factors account for at most 25% of its production cost. Currently, bread prices rise by an average of 1.5–2% each month.
Denys Marchuk: 'Winter was tough, especially for businesses. During severe frosts, keeping a facility energy-efficient using generators is extremely expensive.'
In short, Ukrainians can benefit from attractive supermarket deals on consumer goods, while bread prices stay relatively stable despite rising input costs.
The consumer goods landscape in Ukraine reflects strong demand for promotional offers, helping ease financial pressure on shoppers amid economic instability. The deep discounts at major retailers may signal a shift in pricing strategies and increased market competition, which could influence consumer behavior and overall spending levels. At the same time, bread’s price stability highlights the resilience of this market segment against challenges like higher raw material and energy costs.
