Chongar Bridge Struck Again: Saldo Confirms Damage and Traffic Shutdown.
Bridge Damage in Chongar
According to Espreso.tv: The Chongar Bridge has been hit once more following an attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Volodymyr Saldo announced that traffic across the bridge has been halted and urged drivers to take alternative routes.
According to Russian Federation air defense forces, over 20 UAVs were intercepted while approaching the Chongar Bridge during the assault. On June 6, drone operators from the 3rd Special Operations Regiment established aerial control over a section of the Melitopol–Chongar route. Saldo advised travelers to use detours via Armyansk and Perekop to avoid disruptions.
Impact on Transportation Infrastructure
The situation at the Chongar Bridge highlights the ongoing military activity in the region and its toll on transportation networks. The bridge’s closure could hamper logistical connections between certain settlements, potentially affecting civilians.
At the same time, the aggressive use of UAVs signals an escalation in the conflict, as both sides strive to gain control over strategically vital areas.
