Gold worth 78 billion dollars - where a unique deposit was discovered.
The history of gold mining spans millennia, and new deposits of this precious metal continue to be discovered around the world. Recently, one of the largest deposits was found in China, in the central part of the country.
The new deposit - how much gold is there
The Wangu deposit in Hunan Province contains impressive gold reserves estimated at around 78 billion dollars. Geologists note that the gold in this deposit is not only vast in quantity but also visible in rock samples, which is quite a rare phenomenon. Professor Chen Julin estimated the reserves at a depth of 2 thousand meters to be 300 tons of gold, while total reserves at a depth of three thousand meters could reach 1 ton.
How the gold deposits were discovered
The discovery of the deposit occurred using cutting-edge methods, including 3D modeling of gold-bearing veins to accurately determine their location on the map. This approach allowed experts to identify the richest areas of the deposit as well as promising zones in the surrounding area. There is speculation that such a method could change the global picture of gold mining, making previously less promising deposits economically viable.
A new gold deposit was discovered in China’s Hunan Province, where impressive reserves of this precious metal have been found. The discovery was made possible through the use of modern technologies, which may change the geography of global gold mining in the future.
