Ukrainian Armed Forces refuted information about the presence of North Korean soldiers in Kharkiv region.

The information that North Korean soldiers were spotted in the Kharkiv region is false. These rumors were spread by an unofficial individual. This was reported by the operational-tactical group 'Kharkiv'.

According to the military, the individual who became the source of this information is not an official representative of the 'Kharkiv' group and spoke about the operational situation without the necessary knowledge.

We urge media representatives and the public to rely on announcements published on the official channels of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Also, the 'Kharkiv' group noted that the situation in the Kharkiv direction remains unchanged, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to withstand the pressure of the Russian occupation forces.

New circumstances

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian soldiers noticed servicemen from North Korea in the Kharkiv direction. They were likely planning to conduct offensive actions. This was stated by the commander of the 153rd separate mechanized brigade, Nazarij Kishak, known as 'Sheriff'.

President Volodymyr Zelensky recently stated that the number of Korean troops located on Russian territory amounts to 11 thousand. However, this number could increase to 100 thousand soldiers soon.

Russian plans

At the same Time, the Russian army has been preparing for a future counteroffensive and the expulsion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Russian territory for several months. However, the number of Russian troops in the Kursk region is not catastrophic, as noted in the report by the Institute for the Study of War.

It has also become known that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is trying to launch an attack on the Kursk region before the inauguration of the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump, which is scheduled for January 20.

Thanks to operations in the Kursk region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to capture many occupiers and seize Russian equipment from Ukrainian territory.
