Ramstein Meeting Led by the United Kingdom
Today, February 12, a meeting in the 'Ramstein' format will take place at NATO headquarters in Brussels. This is the first such meeting led by the United Kingdom since the format was established. Previously, the meetings were chaired by Lloyd Austin, the former head of the US Department of Defense. The meeting will discuss support for Ukraine.
The meeting will take place at NATO headquarters in Brussels from 14:30 to 16:45 local Time (15:30-17:45 Kyiv time). It will precede the NATO defense ministers' meeting, which will take place on February 13.
John Healey, the UK Secretary of State for Defence, stated that the 'Ramstein' meeting and the NATO ministers' meeting will focus on ramping up support for Ukraine. He confirmed the UK's commitment to providing military assistance to Ukraine amounting to 3 billion pounds sterling per year.
Ukraine hopes for support at the 'Ramstein' meeting, regardless of who leads it. Decisions are expected to be made regarding enhancing support for Ukraine in the field of air defense and investing in Ukrainian weapons production.
