Before the meeting with the Russian dictator, Trump stated that he wanted a quick ceasefire in Ukraine and would be upset if it did not happen. He claimed that the meeting with Putin would go well or he would quickly return home.
In Alaska, during the summit of the presidents of the USA and Russia, Donald Trump met with Vladimir Putin. The meeting lasted about three hours and included several other high-ranking officials from both countries. Representatives of the press were not allowed to ask Putin questions regarding the situation in Ukraine, as they were asked to leave the premises.
During the negotiations, Trump and Putin discussed the issue of ceasefire in Ukraine and talked about other important topics. The meeting garnered significant interest from the global public, as the relations between the USA and Russia are among the most tense on the modern political stage.
