Foreign ministers from several European countries and representatives of the European Commission coordinated their actions to achieve a just peace in Ukraine. This is of great significance for the whole of Europe to ensure lasting security.
This was stated in a joint statement following the meeting in Paris in the 'Weimar+' format.
'We are ready to support Ukraine. We share the goal of continuing to support Ukraine until a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace is achieved,' the statement said.
The parties agreed that Ukraine and Europe must be involved in all negotiations. Ukraine needs strong security guarantees, and a just and lasting peace is an important condition for robust transatlantic security.
'We look forward to discussing future steps together with our American allies. Our shared task should be to strengthen Ukraine’s position,' said the participants of the meeting.
They also emphasized that the security of Europe is a shared responsibility, thus it is necessary to work together to strengthen collective defense capabilities.
