Ukrainian President Meets Jordan's King to Discuss Security Cooperation

According to UATV: On March 29, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine held talks with King Abdullah II of Jordan. The discussions centered on potential security partnerships, as well as the current situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region. This meeting represents a significant milestone in advancing bilateral ties between Ukraine and Jordan, two nations navigating complex regional dynamics.

Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine's extensive experience in countering drone and missile attacks, gained over five years of war with Russia.

“I met with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan. We discussed possible security cooperation and the overall situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Ukrainian leader also highlighted his country's readiness to collaborate on protective measures against drone and missile strikes.

“From our own experience, we know that without a unified system, it is simply impossible to establish full protection for people and critical infrastructure,” Zelenskyy stated.
He added that Ukraine has already developed an effective air defense system, noting, “We have this system because for the fifth year of full-scale war, we have been forced to fight against constant Russian attacks, including those using Iranian drones.”

Prospects for Partnership

The summit between the two leaders marks a crucial step in fostering security cooperation and bolstering regional stability. It reflects Ukraine's ambition to strengthen its international standing and attract new allies in the security domain.

Amid its ongoing war with Russia, cooperation with Jordan could serve as a vital channel for exchanging expertise and technology related to air defense. For Jordan, this partnership offers an opportunity to enhance its own security and stability in a region where tensions remain high.
