Military personnel can resign from the Armed Forces: what documents need to be submitted.
If a serviceman plans to resign from the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he must write a report to the commander of the military unit where he serves and provide notarized copies of documents confirming his right to resign.
Lawyer Vladislav Deriy told this on the portal 'Yuristi.UA'.
The first step to resignation
In order to leave the Armed Forces of Ukraine according to the law, it is necessary to present the appropriate documents to the command.
The main document is the report to the commander.
However, as lawyer Vladislav Deriy notes, it is also necessary to present other documents that confirm the grounds for resignation.
Required document package
In the case where a close relative of a serviceman died in the war (which allows him to leave the army), it is necessary to have a document confirming the family link between the military and the deceased.
A notarized copy of this document is important, notes Deriy.
In addition, it is necessary to provide copies of documents that confirm the fact of the death of a close relative in the war.
'Such documents may include: notifications of death, investigation reports, a certificate from the military unit stating that the brother died while fighting against the aggression of Russia, a VLK certificate, or an order to exclude him from the lists of the military unit,' emphasized Vladislav Deriy.During the exit from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the serviceman must have not only the report addressed to the commander, but also additional documents to confirm the grounds for resignation, especially in the case of the death of a close relative in the war. Notarized copies of documents confirming this fact will be a necessary part of the procedure.
