HOW compatible are you with your partner in bed – when it comes to sleep?

Як повідомляє The Sun: Take this Bed Chemistry quiz to find out how you score as a couple.

It comes as a poll of 2,000 adults revealed a third of Brits are not ‘sleep compatible’ with their partner – due to snoring or duvet hogging – with a fifth frequently using separate rooms.

As 30 per cent are kept awake at night due to differing sleep schedules, and 20 per cent have to lie next to a bedsheet hogger or constant twitcher.

Only 17 per cent of adults claim to ‘never’ lose sleep due to their partner.

But 65 per cent of those who reckon they’re the problem in bed feel guilty about keeping their other half up at night.

The research was commissioned by Dreams, which took radio presenter and comedian Chris Stark to the streets to uncover firsthand how couples feel about their sleep compatibility – or lack of it.

Stark said: “We all like to think we’re a dream to share a bed with, but let’s be honest – most of us are probably a bit of a nightmare, from snoring, duvet hogging, or taking up the whole bed… or like in my house, having to share my 4am alarms.

“A third of us are actually ‘sleep incompatible’ – that’s millions of couples across the UK struggling to share a bed.

“The great news is that making a few simple changes to your sleep setup can make a huge difference… so I’ve been diving into the highs and lows of ‘bed chemistry,’ talking to couples about their sleep struggles.”

The research also revealed partners are not the only issue to affect sleep though, with 23 per cent of all respondents claiming the mattress they currently sleep on is just ‘okay’.

Of those who aren’t a fan of where they sleep, 44 per cent have had issues with back pain and 13 per cent are driven crazy by noisy springs.

But those polled have had their mattress for as long as five years.

Nearly half (47 per cent) are also negatively affected by the temperature when they’re trying to get 40 winks.

While 36 per cent struggle with noise from outside, and 28 per cent can’t get decent shuteye because their pillow isn’t very comfortable.

A spokesperson for Dreams, which has a ‘Sleepmatch’ service to assess couples’ sleep preferences to help them find a mattress that suits both partners, added: “Sleep incompatibility can be a real challenge for couples.

“Whether it’s differing mattress preferences, varying temperature needs, or one partner tossing and turning, poor sleep doesn’t just affect rest – it impacts mood, energy and overall well-being.

“The good news? The solution is simpler than you think.

“The right mattress, pillows and sleep environment can transform your nights.

“We know that finding you a bed that loves you back is key to getting the quality sleep every couple deserves.”
