Audi presented the Formula-1 car: debut scheduled for 2026.
Audi has taken an important step in preparing for its debut in Formula-1 by presenting the R26 concept, showcasing the design and livery of the future racing car. The production version of the car is set to be revealed in January, ahead of testing in Spain and Bahrain.
The R26 concept is styled like the show car Concept C. Bright geometric lines and a minimalist design harmoniously blend with the body shapes. A special visual accent is created by the color scheme: the titanium front and central part transition into a carbon-black rear segment, while red accents highlight the air intakes, spoiler, and logos.

The technical foundation of the new car will include a hybrid power unit, the development of which has been ongoing since spring 2022. It will consist of a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine, an energy recovery system, an electric motor-generator, and an eight-speed transmission that will provide a total power of around 1000 hp.
According to Audi, Formula-1 races attract over 1.6 billion viewers annually, and the company aims to convert some of them into its customers. To realize this project, Audi acquired the Sauber Group and brought in an investor from the Qatari sovereign fund.
'By entering Formula-1, Audi makes a clear and ambitious statement. This is the next chapter in our evolution,' said Audi CEO Gernot Döllner, adding that the championship will serve as a catalyst for transitioning to 'a leaner, faster, and more innovative Audi.'
Although Audi has optimistic plans, it is acknowledged that the team will not become a leader immediately, but the goal is to compete for the championship title by 2030.
After its premiere in January, the car will head to testing in Spain, and then to Bahrain in February, while the debut race will take place in Melbourne in spring 2026.
It was previously reported that Audi officially unveiled the concept of an electric sports car.
