Child's Death After Traffic Accident

According to Novyny.live: A 12-year-old boy, Sviatoslav Andrusenko, has passed away after spending four months in a coma. He was struck by a judge while crossing a pedestrian crosswalk in Kryvyi Rih on February 9 of this year. The tragedy has plunged his school into deep mourning.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of our student after four months of fighting for his life in the hospital,” said a statement from Kryvyi Rih Gymnasium No. 122.

The accident that claimed Sviatoslav’s life is part of a broader pattern of road traffic incidents in Ukraine. Last year, 3,249 people died in road accidents across the country, including 202 children. Additionally, around 32,000 individuals were injured in such incidents. These figures underscore the severity of road safety issues and the urgent need for improved measures.

Road Safety Concerns

The tragic death of Sviatoslav Andrusenko is not only a personal loss for his family and classmates but also highlights a wider problem with road safety in Ukraine. Given the high accident statistics, there is a pressing need to explore new safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
