Incidents in Kharkiv Oblast

According to UATV: A Russian unmanned aerial vehicle struck the settlement of Berezovka in Kharkiv Raion on July 10, 2023. Three children between the ages of 11 and 13 suffered injuries from shattered glass during the assault. Additionally, two women experienced acute stress reactions as a result of the event.

The shelling damaged non-residential structures, private homes, and farm buildings. This incident has sparked serious concern among local residents and authorities alike. The Kharkiv region has been a frequent target of attacks since the start of the full-scale war, with civilian areas often bearing the brunt.

Investigation and Subsequent Events

A pre-trial investigation into the war crime was launched on July 12, 2023. On the same day, Russian forces attacked a fire and rescue unit in Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv Oblast, further highlighting the threat to civilians in the area.

These events underscore the ongoing escalation of violence in Ukraine, particularly in Kharkiv Oblast, where the civilian population faces direct attacks. It is important to note that such incidents inflict not only physical harm but also psychological trauma on residents, especially children.

The pre-trial investigation may help hold perpetrators accountable and raise international awareness of the situation in the region.
