Deadly Attacks on Ukrainian Communities
According to UATV: At least 18 civilians, among them three children, lost their lives as Russian forces struck the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions. Residential homes, government buildings, and industrial facilities were damaged in the assaults.
On July 12, 2023, three people died in the Dnipropetrovsk region due to the attacks. In Kryvyi Rih, two fatalities were reported, while a 66-year-old man was killed in the Nikopol district. In the Zaporizhzhia region, 12 individuals were affected, with four people wounded in the city of Zaporizhzhia alone. Psychological support is also needed for 16 people, including three children. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, occupiers launched 1,053 strikes across 45 settlements in the region.
Impact on Civilians and Infrastructure
In Kharkiv, more than 20 residential buildings were damaged, and three people sought medical assistance, as reported by Mayor Ihor Terekhov. In the Poltava region, a strike hit an industrial enterprise, though no casualties have been confirmed. Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, noted that the situation remains critical and emergency services are continuing to address the aftermath.
These events highlight the ongoing armed conflict in the area and its devastating toll on civilian life. The targeting of residential neighborhoods and key infrastructure underscores the deepening humanitarian crisis and the urgent need for international support to protect innocent people.
