According to UATV: On June 5, 2023, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported 273 combat engagements over a 24-hour period. The most intense fighting occurred near Pokrovsk and Hulyaipole, where Russian troops have concentrated significant forces in an attempt to breach Ukrainian defenses. This marks one of the highest daily engagement counts in recent weeks, underscoring the sustained pressure on these sectors.

Battlefield Analysis

In the northern sector, three clashes were recorded. Russian forces launched six airstrikes, deploying 18 guided aerial bombs, and carried out 89 artillery bombardments on Ukrainian positions. To the south, Ukrainian units faced 12 separate attacks, reflecting a volatile situation in that region.

On the Kupiansk axis, Ukrainian troops repelled six enemy attempts to advance. In the Lyman direction, Russian forces mounted 26 assaults aimed at breaking through defensive lines. The Sloviansk sector saw 13 attacks from the adversary, while the Kramatorsk axis experienced two efforts to push Ukrainian defenders back. In the Kostiantynivka area, 19 enemy attacks were recorded.

On the Pokrovsk front, Ukrainian defenders halted 41 assault operations, highlighting their resilience and tactical skill. In the Oleksandrivka sector, 10 enemy attacks were registered, while the Hulyaipole area faced 37 assaults by occupying forces. Additionally, near Orikhiv, Russian troops launched a single attack on Ukrainian positions.

In the Dnipro River region, Ukrainian forces successfully stopped two offensive maneuvers by the enemy. Overall, the frontline remains highly volatile, with Ukrainian troops continuing to carry out their missions, demonstrating steadfastness and courage in the fight for national independence.

The situation on the front remains challenging, with active hostilities persisting across several key axes. The concentration of Russian forces around Pokrovsk and Hulyaipole signals the enemy’s intent to pierce Ukrainian defenses, demanding sustained attention and resources from the Ukrainian military.
