30 Days of Silence: Zelensky Reveals Conditions for Starting Peace Talks with Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on April 30 and met with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense of Luxembourg. Issues regarding sanctions against Russia, air defense systems for Ukraine, and diplomatic efforts to cease hostilities were discussed.
In the conversation with the Prime Minister of Canada, Zelensky congratulated Carney on his party's victory in the elections and expressed confidence in the continued strong partnership. They discussed cooperation on the G7 platform, made decisions regarding sanctions against the aggressor, talked about air defense systems for Ukraine, and communication with key partners. Zelensky invited Carney to visit Kyiv.
During the meeting with the ministers of Luxembourg, European cooperation and the necessity of a complete ceasefire for a minimum of 30 days were discussed. Zelensky emphasized the need to stop strikes and killings and seek a solution through negotiations. He stressed that Russia must cease its strikes and the war.
Zelensky also familiarized himself with the report of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the report of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate regarding the actions of the adversary and threats.
On the Day of the Border Guard of Ukraine, Zelensky congratulated the servicemen of the State Border Guard Service and presented state awards, expressing pride in their contribution to the defense of the state and Ukrainian interests.
