5G in Ukraine: When Will the Country Switch to the New Communication Standard.
Testing 5G in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Ukraine intends to start testing 5G mobile internet in the fall of 2025 in Lviv, Kharkiv, and Borodyanka. However, widespread implementation of this technology is only planned after 2030. The launch of 5G in the country is delayed until the end of the state of war, in order to conduct all necessary tests.
Current State of the Technology
Currently, over 22% of mobile phones in Ukraine support 5G. In Kyiv, the first university 5G space has also been opened, allowing students and teachers to access fast internet thanks to cooperation with Vodafone.
Various processes are also taking place in the world, including the Taliban's shutdown of the Internet in Afghanistan and a campaign to cleanse the Internet of negative content in China.
Prospects for Implementation
According to official statements, full access to mobile 5G internet in Ukraine should not be expected before 2030. At this time, tests of the new technology are ongoing to prepare for its active implementation. It is also important to note that there are various problems related to censorship and information control in several countries around the world.
The development of 5G technology opens new opportunities for Ukrainian users, but depends on many factors, including stability in the country and operators' willingness to implement new solutions. Testing in large cities will be an important step towards final changes in the field of mobile communication.
