Public Trust in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

According to TSN.ua: A survey conducted in late January 2026 reveals that 61% of Ukrainian citizens express trust in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. However, the polling data indicates his actual approval rating is more nuanced. A total of 33% of respondents stated they do not trust the president, resulting in a net trust balance of +28%. The detailed breakdown is as follows:

  • 25% of those surveyed said they trust the president 'completely';
  • 36% reported they 'rather' trust him;
  • 16% of respondents said they 'rather' do not trust him;
  • 17% indicated they 'do not trust him at all'.

Resolve for a Prolonged Conflict

The poll also found that 65% of respondents are prepared to endure the war for as long as it takes to achieve an acceptable outcome, demonstrating a widespread readiness for a protracted struggle. Support for continuing the fight varies by region:

  • 58% in the east of the country;
  • 72% in Kyiv are willing to persist.

In contrast, 17% of those polled said they could only withstand the war for a few more months or up to half a year.

Additionally, approximately 5% of respondents cited problems with electricity and heating supply as a key reason for their negative feelings about the country's situation. These figures highlight the complex socio-political landscape in Ukraine and the population's willingness to support its leadership during a difficult period. This resilience is being tested by ongoing infrastructure challenges resulting from the conflict.

Analysis of the survey results suggests that while there is a base level of trust in the president, a significant portion of the population expresses skepticism toward his policies. This may indicate a need for the government to improve communication and address pressing social issues, particularly in the energy sector. Simultaneously, the majority's readiness to tolerate the hardships of war points to their resilience and desire for peace, which will likely remain a crucial factor in the country's future political dynamics.
