Ukraine Targeted by 97 Drones: Interceptions and Damage Assessed.

According to UATV: On March 15, 2023, Russian forces launched an assault on Ukraine using 97 attack drones from multiple directions. The drone types involved included Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others. Approximately 70 of the launched drones were of the Shahed variety.
By 8:00 AM, Ukrainian forces had successfully shot down or suppressed 90 hostile drones. However, five impact strikes were recorded across five separate locations. Additionally, two sites reported debris from downed drones falling to the ground. A prior attack on the Kyiv region during the night of March 14 resulted in four fatalities, 15 injuries, and three individuals in critical condition.

- Bryansk
- Oryol
- Kursk
- Millerovo
- Gvardeyskoye
This incident highlights the ongoing tensions in the region and the significant threat posed by drones in modern military conflicts. Drone debris scattered across Ukrainian territory can create additional hazards for civilians and infrastructure.
This attack is part of Russia's prolonged military aggression against Ukraine, now spanning over a year. The use of drones, particularly the Shahed type, reflects an evolution in warfare tactics where unmanned aerial vehicles serve as primary tools for long-range strikes.
