Aston Martin reveals details of Newey's work: how the F1 genius is changing the team.
Adrian Newey works for Aston Martin
According to The Sun: Adrian Newey is actively involved with Aston Martin, trying to elevate the team to new heights in the world of motorsport.
The 66-year-old designer notes that he gets 'very little sleep' in his new role with Lawrence Stroll's team.
GettyPreviously, Newey worked at Red Bull for 19 years before signing a lucrative contract with Aston Martin worth £20 million a year, which could reach £30 million with bonuses.
Throughout his impressive thirty-year career in Formula 1, Newey has won 12 drivers' titles and 13 for teams, also working with Williams and McLaren.
Comments on Newey
He began his role at Aston Martin as technical partner manager from March 1 of this year.
Aston Martin ambassador Pedro de la Rosa said in the Dura La Vita podcast:
“The main thing is that Adrian Newey didn't come to Aston Martin to retire. This is because he sees the team's potential. Newey works... not 24 hours a day, since he sleeps.
“But he sleeps very little, I can guarantee that. And it's amazing. When you come to the factory at any time, you see him in the office. I can even say I've met him at midnight.”
“The Adrian Newey effect is not just a marketing gimmick. It is a working effect, an inspirational effect that motivates new generations. Everyone is excited about working and learning from him.”
The value of Newey's contract exceeds the fees of 18 drivers in Formula 1, including Aston Martin star Fernando Alonso.
Only reigning world champion Max Verstappen and seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton earn more than Newey.
Currently, Aston Martin is in seventh place out of ten in the constructors' standings, with Alonso in 14th place among drivers, and Lance Stroll in 11th.
Adrian Newey continues to demonstrate his dedication and professionalism, which has already become part of his reputation in the world of Formula 1. His work at Aston Martin will be a significant milestone in the process of improving a team that is desperately striving to enhance its results on the track and return to the leaders of the racing world.
