The agricultural sector provides about 60% of the country's export revenue - Koval.
The Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval reported that agricultural producers and processors account for 60% of Ukraine's export revenue, and Ukrainian food products support 400 million people around the world.
He expressed his opinion during the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Conference 'Harvest of Victory'.
'No other sector has provided as much assistance as the agricultural sector has to our defenders. I would like to remind you that 5 million jobs have been created in the agricultural sector, and 20% of the gross domestic product is produced by agricultural producers together with processors, and about 60% of export revenue – it is you, your products, and the resilience of the country,' Koval noted.
Koval pointed out that at the moment, Ukrainian food products are providing for 400 million citizens of the world. Farmers from Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions and other areas, who constantly face shelling, are currently not only harvesting a large yield but also ensuring international food security.
The head of the agricultural sector thanked American philanthropist Howard Buffett, who finances the charitable fund 'Victory Harvest', as well as the US government, USAID program, and other donors for their support of Ukrainian agricultural producers and called for further cooperation.
