According to ТСН: Belgium has confirmed its readiness to take on the responsibilities of ensuring peace in Ukraine after the end of hostilities. The country offers aviation and maritime capabilities and will also organize training for military personnel.

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever noted that the 'coalition of the willing' meeting in Paris on January 7 was a landmark event. According to him, Belgium, together with a broad coalition of partners, will actively participate in international peacekeeping efforts in Ukraine.

"Our contribution will primarily focus on providing aviation and maritime capabilities, as well as training initiatives where Belgium can deliver tangible and real results," clarified the Prime Minister.

He also emphasized the importance of support from the USA, which will assist in monitoring the processes. This will contribute to effective deterrence and long-term stability in the region.

"The unity of the West can yield results that shape the course of history and guarantee peace," De Wever added.

Results of the 'coalition of the willing' meeting in Paris

At the 'coalition of the willing' meeting on January 7, Ukraine, France, and Great Britain signed a declaration on the establishment of multinational Western contingents on the territory of Ukraine to ensure security after the announcement of peace. The plan includes monitoring the ceasefire under the leadership of the USA, as well as involving military forces from Italy, Poland, and Turkey, particularly at sea, to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the war, the size of the Ukrainian army will amount to 800,000, which will require significant rearmament from partners. The coalition also plans to implement a strategy for Ukraine's development to ensure stability.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the signed declaration as a concrete step towards peace, confirming Europe's intentions to deploy the 'coalition of the willing' forces immediately after the end of the war. Ukraine has already coordinated with France and Great Britain the details of troop deployment, their funding, and roles in defending the land, sky, and sea. The primary security force will remain the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the USA will assist with monitoring the ceasefire. However, unresolved issues still exist, particularly regarding territories and the final peace plan, which contains 20 points. The signed documents will become the legal basis for attracting international contingents.

Thus, Belgium and its partners are preparing for an important role in supporting security in Ukraine. This is a decisive step that could become the foundation for long-term stability in the region. Observers note that active actions from the international community are critically important for Ukraine's post-war recovery.
